Maybe Hamill just didn't have the time, though he does plenty of other voiceover work and could probably squeeze in a few hours to step back into the shoes of Skywalker. Instead of hiring Hamill to record new dialogue and using some digital trickery to bring up the pitch and remove a bit of the gravel, the folks at Lucasfilm digitally created new lines of dialogue like the world's most complicated Speak & Spell. I was able to get clean recordings of that, feed it into the system, and they were able to slice it up and feed their neural network to learn this data.' The unit I received sounds ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE THE VIDEO. The video of the Vader voice change, ostensibly performed from within the helmet, borders on false advertising. I bought this kit, in part, based on the videos posted online and on HyTechToyz own website and all I can say is that they should be ashamed of themselves. It was not the right size for the interior of ANY helmet and was totally useless in terms of build quality. And why not include a way to secure the battery rather than just leaving it to flop around? The speaker is junk, I threw it away immediately. A shame, considering this kit had a lot of potential.

I literally found a superior mic for 3 bucks on eBay. The included mic and boom are of the lowest possible quality. In other words, it's so distorted that Vader comes across like Ren, who comes across as a scratchy Stormtrooper. If you do opt for the amp with volume control then while yes, it's louder, the static and distortion are SO BAD that you can't make out words, syllables or even 'which' voice it is supposed to be. If you opt for the voice changer without the amp, then the output is so low you can't really hear anything over your own voice. Yup, I can sadly confirm what other reviews are reporting: that this voice changer (mine was for Vader but the problems exist for ALL their voice changing products) is not really suitable for any trooping or cosplay.
